Mataaf Bridge Removal Completed

The General Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques (GPH) Announced on 13th May 2016, that the removal process of the Mataaf Bridge has been completed well before the expected date which was 29th May 2016.

The Mataaf Bridge was erected in 2013 to increase the capacity of the Pilgrims performing Tawaaf in the midst of the ongoing expansion of the Mataaf Itself.


The Capacity of the Mataaf has now increased from 19,000 to 30,000 believers in the Mataaf Area Alone.

Mataaf's look after the Bridge Removal

After the completion of the Floors in the Masjid Al Haram Building, the total capacity will increase from 44,000 to 144,000 believers per hour. The Complete Expansion of the Mataaf is expected to be completed before Ramadan 2016.
