Sheikh Usaamah Khayyat (Full name: Usaamah bin Abdullah bin Abdul Ghani Khayyat) was born in Makkah, Saudi Arabia in the year 1956.

He graduated in the year 1977 and earned his Masters and PHD Degree from Umm Al Qurra University, Makkah in the year 1982 and 1988 respectively.

He was appointed as Imam in Masjid Al Haram in 1997 after the approval of King Fahad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (RahimiAllah).

He is also a Professor in the Faculty of Dawah and Usool Deen in Umm Al Qurra University

He also is a member of the Shoura Council since 2003
