Sheikh Dr. Abdul Bari bin Awad al-Thubaity, Imam and Khateeb of Masjid Al Nabawi, explained in the Friday sermon today about Surah Al Ikhlas that “this is a great surah - and all the surahs of the Qur’an are great – one of the shortest surah, with eloquent meanings, sea of merits, and it is unique to great virtues, and it equates to one-third of the Qur’an, Allah Almighty said (Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.")
He further
said that “there is no life in the hearts, no joy, no pleasure, no bliss, and
no forgiveness except in the knowledge of Allah, glory be to Him.”
His
eminence added that knowing Allah would make the slave come to Allah in all his
conditions, so that he would calm his heart, calm himself, trust in Him in
truth, and truly trust Him. Allah Almighty said (Those who have believed and
whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the
remembrance of Allah hearts are assured.").
