Summary of Jummah Khutbah delivered by Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rehman Al Sudais on 13 Rabi Al Awwal 1442 corresponding to 30 October 2020
Sheikh Sudais: “Brothers of Faith, Since more than
fourteen centuries of the mission of the Master of the Apostles, May blessings
and Peace be upon him, his beautifully embellished beauty has perfumed the
countries and places with the realities of awe and beauty, fear and majesty,
and the wisdom that is revealed through his words and deeds witnessed by many”
The ummah’s prayer and love for its Messenger and
Beloved, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, his biography, and his
fragrant virtues is not a connection of times and occasions. Rather, it is a
close connection in all circumstances and all affairs and conditions of life
until death.
Sheikh Sudais spoke of the qualities of Prophet
Muhammad (May Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him): When people hear about
the Messenger's honourable qualities, their hearts are enlivened just as the
ground is after the rainfall. All goodness, guidance, and moderation can be
found in what was narrated about him. He was sound in his physical form as well
as his conduct. When silent, his appearance was awe-inspiring. When he spoke,
he was enveloped by gracefulness. He was the most elegant of people when at a
distance, and the finest and clearest when up close.
Ali
(R.A) described the Prophet (May Peace
and Blessings of Allah be upon him) by saying, "He was not very tall or
very short, he had wide palms and feet, his head was large, his joints were
large, and he had a long thin line of hair from his chest to his midsection.”
Hassan ibn Thabit said about the Prophet in lines of
poetry conveying the meaning, "My eyes never saw anyone better than you,
and women have not given birth to anyone better looking than you. You were
created without blemish, as though you were made just the way you wanted to
be."
People of the Pure Prophets! (May Allah bless them
all) “We make no distinction between any
of His messengers." “We, in the name of one billion and eight hundred
million Muslims, condemn and denounce in the strongest terms the insults of
prophecies and messages, especially our Prophet Muhammad.” The cartoons and caricatures
are offensive and outrageous and are a form of terrorism, a form of hate-fueled
extremism and abhorrent racism, not freedom of expression!
Directing insults or mockery of religious sanctities
and symbols is the transgression of morals and customs and is repercussive for its
owner, because freedom of expression must take into account human values that
are based on respect for the feelings of others, and when they deviate from
those values, they offend the moral meaning of freedoms and the ideals of
these offenses
Extremist ideas who want to spread an atmosphere of
hatred among human societies and Islam is innocent of all this and that, and
it is innocent of accusations of terrorism being attached to it. It is a religion of tolerance, compassion, and cohesion, and it does not contain
terrorism, extremism, sabotage, mockery or ridicule, or a distinction between
the prophets and messengers of Allah Almighty.
