Kiswa of the Kabah lifted

Every year on the eve of 15th Dhul Hijjah, the Kiswah of the Kabah is raised and a white cloth is wrapped around the Kabah.

This tradition of Lifting the Kiswah is very old and Dates back to the early years of Islam. However the main reason of lifting the Kiswah of the Kabah is that, Hujjaj tend to cut the Kiswah falsely believing that it has some significance, however the Standing Committee has denounced this act.

The White Cloth symbolizes the Hajj season and is sometimes referred as the “Ihram of the Kabah”
