Man arrested for raising banner in Masjid Al Haram

MAKKAH: A man identified as a Yemeni Resident was arrested by the Umrah Security Forces and referred to the Public Prosecution for rasing a banner.

A statement by the General Security described the arrest for violating the rules and regulations of Umrah and also violating the sanctity of the Holy Mosque.

Earlier a vide went viral on social media which showed a man in Ihram raising a banner which described the man performing Umrah on behalf of the late Queen of the United Kingdom.

The President for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques issued a statement urging visitors that the Two Holy Mosques are places of worship exclusively for Allah alone, and not for raising slogans or carrying banners that violate regulations and instructions.
