Hajj Registration begins for western countries

RIYADH: Hajj registration for Western Countries (Americas, Europe and Australia) began on Friday on the Motawif Platform

The Motawif Platform announced that applicants can register themselves for an online draw which will be conducted at random at a later date. This comes after quota of the Hajj this year was capped at 1 million due to COVID-19 pandemic concerns.

The Platform also announced that first arrivals from these countries are Scheduled for June 26th

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that all registrations from Europe, Americas and Australia will be conducted through the online direct platform and not the usual registrations through accredited travel agents.

The Ministry further emphasized that Motawif is the only legitimate platform from which applicants can apply for Hajj from the mentioned countries, it also encouraged people to report agents and companies advertising Hajj packages from these companies.

This year the Ministry of Hajj announced that 1 million Hujjaj will participate in this year’s Hajj after 2 years of hiatus. Among a few requirements and precautionary measures, the maximum age limit was set to 65 years and getting vaccinated against COVID-19 was a mandatory requirement. Hujjaj will also need to present a 72 hour negative PCR test upon arrival in the Kingdom
