The Motawif Platform announced on Saturday the end of the process to select Hujjaj from the Americas, Europe and Australia for the current Hajj season.
Motawif, the only platform authorized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to process travel arrangements of Hujjaj from western countries chose Hujjaj through “a random e-draw”. Motawif said in one of its tweets that the draw process was conducted ‘individually from each country as per its allocated quota’.
The number of successful Hujjaj remains unknown amid reports of many applicants facing difficulty in the application process and securing a package for the successful ones. Motawif is yet to respond to multiple requests by Inside the Haramain for clarity on the matter.
A source at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah responding to Inside the Haramain said: “The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is not actively involved in the Motawif Platform process at the moment”, the source further said: “The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah takes the comfort of its guests very seriously and any complaints regarding the process should be directed to the Ministry.”
