Sheikh Ali Al Hudaify

Sheikh Ali Bin Abdul Rahman Bin Ali Hudhaify is the Imam and Khateeb of Masjid An Nabawi, Madinah Al Munawarrah.

Born in 1366 AH in the village of Al-Qarn Al-Mustaqeem, located in the Northern Al-Ardiyah region south of Makkah, hailed from a religious family. His father served as an Imam in the military, and his initial education involved studying the Holy Qur’an under the tutelage of scholars in his village, particularly guided by Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Hudhaify.

In 1381 AH, he enrolled in the Salafi Private School in Baljurashi Governorate, completing his junior secondary education there. Subsequently, in 1383 AH, he joined the Institute of Knowledge in Baljurashi and earned his senior secondary education credentials in 1388 AH.

Continuing his academic journey, he pursued studies in Sharia at the Islamic University of Imam Muhammad bin Sa’ud in Riyadh, where he graduated in 1392 AH. After graduation, he assumed a teaching role in the Institute of Learning in the Baljurashi Governorate, instructing students in the interpretation of the Holy Qur’an, monotheism, Arabic grammar, and Arabic calligraphy. Additionally, he served as an Imam in a mosque in Baljurashi.

Sheikh Hudhaify proceeded to earn his Master’s Degree from Azhar University in 1395 AH. Subsequently, he obtained his Doctorate Degree from the same institution in the Department of Jurisprudence, Sharia Policy Division. Since 1397 AH, he has been affiliated with the Islamic University, serving as an Associate Professor and imparting knowledge on monotheism and jurisprudence in the College of Law.

His teaching responsibilities extended to the College of Hadith, College of Da’awah and Fundamentals of Religion, the School of Postgraduate, and the College of the Holy Qur’an, specifically in the Department of Recitations.

Notably, Sheikh Hudhaify has established himself as one of the distinguished reciters in Saudi Arabia and the broader Islamic world. His Quranic recitations have been broadcast on various radio stations, both inside and outside the Kingdom.

He has received Ijaazah (certifications) in various types of Quranic recitations from prominent reciters, including Sheikh Ahmad Abdul Aziz Al-Ziyaat (ten types of recitations), Sheikh Aamir Al Sayeed Usman (Hafs narration, and he also began the seven types of recitation), Sheikh Abdul Fatah Al-Qadi (Hafs narration), and Sheikh Hammad Al-Ansari (Hadith).

In addition to his academic role, Sheikh Hudhaify has held significant positions, such as serving as an Imam in Masjid Quba from 1399 AH to 1401 AH, Imam in Masjid Al Haram in Makkah in 1401 AH, and subsequently as the Imam at the Prophet’s Mosque from 1402 AH to the present.

He also serves as the Chairman of the Committee for the Revision of the Holy Qur’an in Madinah and is a member of the Supervisory Committee for the Recording of the Holy Qur’an at the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Noble Qur’an. Furthermore, he is a member of the supreme committee for the King Fahad Complex for the Printing of the Noble Qur’an.
